First chapter in the push for a trillion trees
Conserve, Restore, Grow
A global initiative to conserve, restore and grow one trillion trees by 2030 has seen the launch of its first regional chapter.

The United States’ chapter of 1t.org, which counts WeForest’s CEO Marie-Noelle Keijzer on its Global Advisory Council, kicked off in August with a pledge by 26 companies, cities and organizations to help combat climate change by conserving, restoring and growing more than 855 million trees.

A World Economic Forum initiative, 1t.org will provide a global platform for reforestation commitments, initiatives or campaigns all over the globe. It will help overcome socio-economic barriers to reforestation, encourage funding, and provide opportunities, tools, and resources.

With the launch of this regional chapter, U.S. companies, nonprofits, governments, academics, and grassroots organizations can now sign up at us.1t.org to help reforest the country. “This is the first of what we envision will be many more regional platforms to anchor the impact of our work towards a trillion trees,” says 1t.org Co-Director Nicole Schwab.
