Carbon Project Technical Lead for Nature-based Solutions
The Carbon Project Technical Lead for Nature-based Solutions will provide carbon accounting technical leadership on WeForest’s carbon project development process. This includes understanding carbon project methodologies, conducting carbon feasibility study and carbon stock assessment, PDD drafting, and setting up monitoring protocols.

WeForest is currently in the process of developing 3 carbon projects, each at different stages of development.

Mangroves restoration project in Senegal: the project has submitted the PDD for validation in November 2024. The next step is to develop the monitoring protocol, coordinate with external technical consultants on the design change between the old AR-ACM0014 methodology and the new VM0033 methodology, and supervise the preparation of MRV report before the first verification in Q1 2026.

Dry afromontane forest restoration and conservation project in Ethiopia: already listed on Verra and has a draft PDD based on AR-ACM0003. A feasibility study and carbon modelling will be conducted during first semester 2025 to align the current PDD with the requirements of the VM0047 methodology.

Community Conservation Project in Zambia: already listed on Verra and has a draft PDD under VM0048. The next step is to review the carbon modelling using new jurisdictional baselines approved by Verra for validation, expected Q4 2025.
