Tentsile - a company born from Passion

1983: A six-year-old London boy, Alex, saw the destruction of the Amazonian rainforest on the BBC news. A few weeks later, his grandmother took him to see Return of the Jedi. The Ewok tree village on Endor planted an idea - our forests would only survive if trees had a value to us humans, he thought, other than a monetary one. If we used trees as living accommodation, that might just save them! The seed of treehouse architecture had been sown.

As parents we want to be able to look into our children’s eyes and say we did our best. At WeForest, that means doing something to reverse the world’s climate crisis. Restoring forests is one of the best options we have to cool our earth and we owe it to our children to try.

Inspiration for Illustration's '1% for the Planet'

“I should begin by saying that the irony of writing about safeguarding our environment whilst on a two-year motorcycle journey around the world has not escaped me. That said, my travels have enabled me to witness disturbing goings-on that would otherwise have gone unnoticed. (…) What began to dawn on me was that wherever I went, man’s impact on his beautiful, robust yet fragile home was very apparent.

Delighted to hear we have helped to plant over four hundred thousand so far, MD of Illustration; Harry Lyon-Smith says "It is thanks to our clients that these trees are being planted, by funding 80 trees for every job we do, on average ".  See our carbon offsets report below:
