WeForest Joins AFR100 as Technical Partner

ET_D_KD_2017_08_Landscape_Forest

The African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative (AFR100) was started by the African Union to restore 100 million hectares of deforested and degraded landscapes across Africa by 2030 (an area the size of Egypt). WeForest was selected to join as a Technical Partner. So far, 25 African nations have signed-up, with a combined pledge to restore 85.3 million hectares of degraded land – an area 3.5 times the size of the UK! WeForest will support this ambitious goal by providing expertise in Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) gained through project operations experience around the world, applied research programmes and a focus towards developing an FLR quality standard.
